I figured out something interesting yesterday. Did you ever try to throw a great ball of energy at something, and for whatever reason it never took effect? A terrible waste of energy indeed.
However, do you remember the part in the Bible where Jesus walked up to the fig tree and became angry because it had no fruit? He thrust his hand forward and said "May you never bare fruit again!" Obviously the result was that it withered and died.
Likewise, an energy ball will have no effect on something if you just toss it at the object. But if you say something to the effect of "Burn!" it will probably have an effect if it's powerful enough.
This popped into my head when I remembered how when I created that really powerful energy ball I talked about earlier, my radio was playing a song where the word "burn" was used quite a few times.
...So THAT's what we were forgetting!
