It is interesting what the death of a loved one can do for us. For some it opens doors for others it shuts the heart down. When my husband died I realized I had lost a piece of myself (a piece of my soul!). My soul was not something I'd ever given thought to...but I knew that something was taken from it when my husband died. The evening of his death, I stayed at my neighbors (just a driveway away). My husband had a heart attack and died. But that night after everyone had left he came to say good-bye. I had been crying and I remember that I had pressed the pillow to my face so that I would not disturb my friends. The crying had stopped and I lay there silently shaking...when I saw this cloud like (that is the nearest thing I can describe similar to) image of him from the shoulders up. He came down towards my face slowly, he smiled, kissed me on the right cheek and said "I'm alright" and then the image was gone. There was a warmth all over my body when he kissed, it is hard to describe but it was absolutely wonderful. I got up to tell my friends and they lovingly led me back into bed. I believe that you spent time with your friend, I'm happy that you had that opportunity. To often our heart hurts so much we miss a chance to say good-bye or experience life in another level of living.

My husband came to me once in a dream but I knew this time it was to give his final good-bye. I was blessed with a wonderful man and there was "some" peace being able to say good-bye. The loss, the pain, the hole in my heart will never heal but the memories of this wonderful man will live forever in my heart.
