My family had a similar experience. My parents were renting an old farm house in Michigan. The house was a little "creepy", but we decided it was just because of its age. After staying there for quite some time, strange things were heard and seen. At first the sounds were of children playing in the utility room. Then we would hear footsteps. Every once in a while out of the corner of your eye you could see something go by. We could never get a good look. One day sitting in the kitchen we heard the footsteps walk across the floor, go to the door, open it and walk down the stairs. We all just looked at each other in disbelief. My mom had the most experiences with the entity that was most active. The spirit was a man who seemed about 60ish. He would hold my mom down on the bed and not let her up. One night she over-powered him and threw him off of her and he did not try that anymore. Then another night he would not let her turn on the light. She overcame her fear of him and said to leave her alone. No matter what he did she would fight it so he might as well live there in peace with her. (she could not see him during these episodes but could physically feel him). From that time on she had no problems with him. We still saw and heard them occassionally but didn't have problems. Later we found out the spirits were of the age and generations of the original owners and builders.

My suggestion to you would be to meditate and pull your positive energy into one focal point. Face the spirit or entity and tell it what you feel. Be honest and strong yet loving.
