Past lives are not what people think. Time is not linear as past-present-future. The feelings people have regarding "other" lives is a spiritual connection between dimensional time.

This means the past and future are happening at the same time. Time is in truth all in the "now".

The spiritual connection between lives means that our higher spirit has created many souls from itself in which we are each connected. We may receive fleeting feelings or images of other lives in which we are influenced from and we influence in return.

Does this mean we can speak to the other lives? No, we are simply made aware by impressions, not direct communication. This is because we are not to interfere with the other life. Thus a person can have many other lives connected to them, so the count really has no purpose.

What of this life? This life is only one. Each life is unique and will not be duplicated. What each of us create in experiences in this one life is transferred to our higher consciousness.

Does this information contradict reincarnation?

No it does not. Reincarnation refers to the spiritual progression of the spirit. Any new life created is another consciousness that carries elements from the other lives into its own life. Incarnation refers to the embodiment of a spirit. The embodiment of the spirit is called a soul. A spirit can re-incarnate itself into a new body, but a soul cannot. The soul is a one time affair.

Thus, in each incarnation into a new soul is also a new consciousness whose essence is the same as all others, but it is also individual and unique.

This life we have is then unique and will not be repeated, although other lives created by our spirit can continue.

This is why beliefs claim that there is only one life and after death is nothing. This means the soul in this life ends. A belief that we go from one life to another is due to the higher spirit creating a new soul with elements of the previous one. Beliefs that we have only one life and return to heaven is thus shown that each soul life is unique and will not be repeated and after death the consciousness of the soul returns.

To seek past lives is not a good idea. Seek inner understanding of why you get these impressions. God would be a good place to start.
